Elton John One Night

This film ended up being much more entertaining than I thought. The cast is great. Paul Reiser, John Goodman, Michael Douglas, Reba McEntire, and others. I’ve never cared much for Matt Dillon but this role for him worked pretty good here.

But, who really makes the film great was the gorgeous femme fatale, Liv Tyler. I’ve loved her in many films. She’s got this natural trashy demeanor that is just so sexy. The kind of girl you’d hope to meet if you had to walk through some delapitated trailer park, and she happens to be sitting on her porch looking for any guy who just happens to walk by.

She’s got such a convincing innocent look on her face while her intentions are devious as ever. That’s the magic of this film’s appeal. No one else could have played this part better than her. Well, maybe Marisa Tomei.

She ended up entering into the lives of three unsuspecting guys, and tears their heart’s apart. Well, actually about six guys, but the main focus is on just the three. And all she wanted in the end was just a roof over her head, and a DVD player.

My new sharper imaging 32″ LCD HDTV really helps add to the detailed appearance of how ugly and run-down Matt Dillon’s old house looks on the outside. This contributes to putting some art into this film. Plus, Liv Tyler’s trashy dresses throughout the film.

God, I wonder want she would do for a guy who would give her two DVD players.
One Night at McCool

So, first let me say that I don’t dislike this scale enough to return it. I’ve waited a few months to write this review because I wanted to be sure I’d had enough time with the scale to validate my one concern. Overall I like it. I like that I can just step on it–no tapping. I like how big the numbers are–very easy to read. My one concern is that it seems to be fairly accurate but only after I mess with it a little. It seems to remember the last weight it measured. I only get on the scale once or twice a week and am finding that I have to hold something that weighs a few pounds to get it to “reset”. Then, I step off and wait for it to turn off. Then I step on it again and it registers my new weight. My weight doesn’t fluctuate much each week. I’m doing Weight Watchers and at most, I lose two pounds in a week now. I was hoping for a scale that I didn’t have to fiddle with to get an accurate reading but this isn’t frustrating enough for me to spend even more money on another scale that I might not be any happier with.

This movie has been done over and over again, with different actors and by different directors, but the plot is stale and has gotten extremely boring. Don’t bother with another cookie cutter movie of this kind…. buy something original or save your money!
One Crazy Summer VHS

I did some research and found this deal on amazon the best on the web for 8GB or less. If you go bigger with the same brand it seems to be just as good of a deal for the price.

This memory card has worked well for me. I don’t use a cable when transferring files from my camera to my computer, I just pull the card out and push it into the media card reader. This card has withstood multiple insertions in and out of the camera and the computer, and it has held up well– that means it’s durable.

The class 6 is substantially faster than the regular SD card I was using at first, and I needed at least this type of speed to be able to shoot video or burst mode with my DSLR. It has been plenty of speed for me, but I haven’t used anything faster. I imagine if you are shooting extended video clips with your camera or if you are into sports photography where you need like 40 burst shots in a row, than you might want to go faster. Otherwise this one works great. Recommended.

Lexerd TomTom ONE TrueVue

The carrycase does the job of protecting the TomTom ONE, but the design is poor (it uses a zipper to close the case and the little leather [perhaps leatherette] tab on the zipper broke off when I first tried to use it to close the zipper. A case of this design should not have been designed to use a zipper at all. The handle is a joke and next to worthless. It’s held in place with a thin elastized cord that is just waiting to break. Absent a well-designed and constructed case, I am keeping this one, but reluctantly.
