I finally bought two of these – one at 20 dollars and one at 18 dollars – they seemed like a luxury so I kept waiting for a price drop. The other reviewers are right – this is the best. We have a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Honda Civic. We used to jam the garmin in the small compartment on top of the Hyundai’s dash, with the top of the compartment holding the top of the Garmin “antenna”. It was not the best viewing angle but it worked. The Honda we just had to have the thing laying down or the passenger had to hold it.

No more!! This thing truly holds the Garmin perfectly, and on either dashboard without trouble. You can place it anywhere you want for viewing, and it’s so much easier to reach. We luckily had kept our mounting pieces handy that came with the Garmin – you need the bulb part that comes with the Garmin itself. And the other thing we realized is you have to push REALLY hard to attach the bulb part to the piece on the mount. We were nervous, but that’s how it works.

I’m not sure why others have had concerns about its size- while it is large, it fits easily in the glove compartment or center console. We don’t keep a ton in there, so maybe that’s why. If we needed to, it’s really easy to pop the garmin and mount off of the bottom “beanbag”, making the whole thing even easier to store.

I did give it 4/5 for storage size – I’m just used to folding the garmin back together and putting it in it’s case – can’t do that with the mounting ball piece on the back.

You won’t regret this purchase – I only wish I’d bought it sooner!
