This book was an absolute delight to read. Characters fleshed out enough to actually care about them and a well-researched insight into Depression-era circus life.
As fare as plot goes, there’s probably nothing you haven’t already seen or read a hundred times over in romance novels, or Lifetime Network movies for TV. Same material set against a new backdrop.
Sometimes a good read is just that – a good read. It doesn’t have to be life-changing – just entertaining. I love how it was all told as a personal history.
I do appreciate the author’s exhaustive research to get the circus terms right. My only (small) complaint (and maybe I missed something) was that not all the terms were defined for the reader. It does not take away from the storyline at all.

I recentaly bought myself an iPod Touch because my 8gb iPod Touch couldn’t hold all my music, and I absolutely made the right choice getting the 64gb iPod Touch. In addition to being an excellent way to take my music with me wherever I go, this handy gadget has a fairless useless, but extremely fun, microphone, the ability to use apps, and wonderful Wifi capabilities. I would definitely recommend this product, as long as you don’t mind investing a bit of money into you iPod.

When this card stopped working after a few weeks of being in my camera I was not not surprised, because these things are cheaply made and a certain percentage fail. I went through the process of getting a refund authorization code and mailed it in fully expecting Transcend to replace the card. I was stunned when I got the card back with a form letter saying I had done one of a list of things which absolved them of replacing their defective product (I didn’t). The letter also had a series of check boxes which seemed to indicated the product I had sent in was counterfeit. I sent them a protest letter asking them to do the right thing, but they didn’t respond. I bought a Sandisk card. Please do the same and avoid dealing with a company that refuses to replace its defective prodcuts.

If you like fantasy or mystery, then this is the book for you. I would have rated it 7+ stars, but the rating chart didn’t go that high…

If you get one book a year, then GET THIS BOOOOOK!!!

Every part of it makes you want to read more, every scheme or plan makes you wonder what the next is going to be, and every time you finish a book in this series, you just can’t wait till the next.

And just the style of Eion Colfer’s writing is almost enough t make you think like you’re in the story.

I like to keep up on what my 13yr old daughter is reading. We spent many a night reading through the Harry Potter books and thought we’d give this series a try as it was supposed to be the next big thing.

Though I was able to get through the book both my daughter and I thought it was pure crap. This book was written for a specific demographic that we are obviously not a part of. I’m proud that my kid can see through the crap in this book and move onto another series.

There isn’t much that I can put in this review that hasn’t been said already, but let me make a request of Amazon. Can you please reclassify this series and all over vampire romantic fiction in it’s own genre? I just bought a kindle and like to read fantasy and am disappointed in the fact that the fantasy section is now polluted with a ton of these vampire romance books, this isn’t fantasy, it’s romantic vampire fantasy.

If you want your daughters to read books with real deal strong female characters I suggest “Rides a Fire” by S.M. Stirling, or the Magician’s Guild series.
